The Shade Control System is designed to automate window shades based on environmental conditions to maintain optimal indoor lighting levels, minimize heat gain, and improve energy efficiency. The system integrates multiple sensors, including daylight, temperature and occupancy sensors. A wall-mounted switch provides manual control for users to adjust the shades directly.
Components
1. Daylight Harvesting Sensor - measure light inside the room behind the shades
2. Window Light Sensor - measure the light passing through exterior windows in front of the shades
3. Temperature Sensor - measure the heat gain either in front or behind shades
4. Occupancy Sensor - detect human presence
5. Wall Switch - manual control
6. Shade Motor Controller - moves the shades open or closed
7. Central Control Unit - collects sensor data and commands shades open or closed
Modes
1. Automatic - operate based on sensor data to maintain specified environmental conditions.
2. Manual - allow users to manually adjust shades using the wall switch.
